The actual manga quotes are: "Naruto, just so we're clear, this is a war to protect the eight and nine tails. In other words, a war to protect YOU. All surrounded with flashbacks that point out that Naruto = Gaara's light that saved him from the darkness.

Seriously, I am not pro-naruhina or pro-narugaara, neutral either way... but when I read Gaara's speech I was all WAIT WAIT WHERE DID I HEAR THAT BEFORE.

Oh right. "I almost went the wrong way... You saved me! Your smile saved me! So I am not afraid to die for you... Because I love you!"

Pfffhahahahaha oh Gaara.
