yes, probably, but it's still no excuse. He has responsibilities , and not only toward sasuke!! Gah, if my teacher was so obvious about taking care of his pet, I'd be pissed and jealous and feel hurt and rejected and not good enough-- which is what everyone wants naruto to feel, it looks like. Good thing he's strong enough to keep fighting even when it feels like no one cares if he fails, but at the same time i would so love to finally see someone care for him and him first and try to help him to realize his dream (iruka is so motherly. he loves him but you can feel he'd like nothing better than to forbid him to go on missions because it's dangerous). Like Jiraiya. Pervert-sennin is cool that way, even despite... being a pervert and all
